Deviation Actions
What the hell dA. Haven't I been good to you? Haven't I steered clear of internet drama, and resisted in taking part in retarded bawlitics? Haven't I withstood the dark sides' allure of trolling and truly epic lulz?
So why? Why do you think I'm spam? Why do you think I would NOW decide to be a internet dick-head, when I've been so good all this time?
Anyway. What happened was, I was basically having a conversation with someone via comments on a recent deviation of mine. Sure, at first we were sizing each other up a little, trying to figure out the troll/twit ratio, but then we reached an understanding that we were just having a nice conversation, and that we agreed with one another. So I post a response to his comment (a nice reply in which I agree with basically everything he says and share a few laughs) and I get the famous error message. An error has occurred. Could not post comment because the system thinks it's spam.
THE HELL? I was being nice!
Now, I understand that the system will most of the time consider something spam based on the comment's length and frequency of posts... but these comments were more than a few minutes apart, and the length was average (for someone having a conversation... and with the term "Rambler" in their name).
If this is the case, then fine... I'll wait a bit longer. But if it's thinking I'm spam because it thinks I'm being a troll, Imma be pissed.
That said, anyone know if the "system" has other triggers other than length and frequency of posts? They kinda elude that other factors may effect its spam filter in the faq:
FAQ #31: I am unable to post comments or send notes because the site informed me I was spamming. What is going on?
I'm just curious is all. I kinda hate when a site decides it needs to intervene on commenting behavior/etiquette. Not so much because I feel like my freedom of speech is being impeded, but more because it's fucking ridiculous that we need a wahhhmbulance to prevent people from getting butthurt when someone doesn't liek u on the big scary internetz.
(AND YES. I know there are instances where internet harassment becomes a serious issue and needs intervention. I know the difference between hurtful attacks and fallout from OMG INTERNET DRAMA... I just wish more people could make the distinction as well.)
I know, I know.. the internet is srs business. But trolling is what makes it so funny some times. But if you hate trolling, or have been a victim of trolling, here's a hint for all you kiddies out there: if you're being trolled, ignore them. I know the urge to lash out and prove once and for all you're the ultimate white knight, or internet tough guy or passive aggressive, "rubber and glue", high-horse riding, condescending douchetard... but for once, just let it go. Calm down and enjoy some lulz. If they keep trying to goat you into a fight, report them for spam. It looks a lot better when someone is endlessly harassing you for no good reason, than if you keep responding and dragging it out.

So, I won't be posting on dA as much anymore...
Not full content anyhow.
As you probably already know, Ray and I started "Love Dumps" a few weeks ago now. It's a webcomic with weekly updates on Wednesdays. You can check it out here: http://www.drunkduck.com/love_Dumps/ I will still post the "update" panels on here like I have been, but if you want to read the whole comic, you'll have to go to the comic site.
I also have a tumblr that I've been trying to update half-way regularly. It will have exclusive comics as well as sketches, pictures and other nonsense. http://masterrambler.tumblr.com/
If you still want to send me messages and comments, feel free. I still check my inbox almos
Video Game Legislation before the Supreme Court
[Disclaimer: This is my interpretation of what's going on - I don't claim to be 100% accurate, this is just my understanding of the situation... I could be wrong - I don't know everything.]
So, I recently read a few articles that caught my fancy about the upcoming hearing regarding violent game content and its accessibility to minors before the Supreme Court.
In a nut-shell, the court will be deciding the Constitutionality of a prospective California Law that prohibits the sale of games with inappropriate content to minors, specifically pertaining to violent content. Under the new law, if a retailer DOES sell a M-Rated game to a minor the
So. I got bit by a dog.
Last sunday while visiting Ray's family, one of the dogs they were to foster for a rescue in NY attacked me and bit my hand for no apparent reason... :C
Now, before you animal-lovers scoff at me and insist I must have done something wrong to provoke the dog - don't. I am a huge advocate for rescue groups and shelters alike, and have adopted several animals myself from my local SPCA and other groups. I've also had extensive dealings with dogs and am confident in handling them. I know what to do when introducing myself to a new animal, and I know what signs to be aware of that would suggest the dog was under stress or uncomfortable, or that
Burthdaiiii :B
leik omg hi gaiz. :la:
So it's my 21st birthday, and you know what I'm doing?...
I'm not going out and getting smashed.
I'm not buying a handgun (despite Ray's pleas).
I'm not even buying fireworks.
I'm going to the doctor's office for my annual check-up... So my doctor can tell me to loose weight and look up my hoo-hah.
IT'S JUST WHAT I WANTED. ~hurrplz (https://www.deviantart.com/hurrplz)
(Also, my brother and sister got me Rock Band 2 and Green Day Rock Band, so I'm fucking up the drums. :headbang: YEAH. )
